Saturday

..once again a kwik peep at th' cover tellz th' well versed cat that its bargin bin time for this mob, 'n thats where they nestled until disappearin for nearly 30years
...released in 71 its somewhat outta time cos bein an invictus it had an inevitable earlier motowny vibe, but from this distance such temporal discrepancies are o' little concern now

...some cool uptempo funkee soul vibes jostle for earspace with a coupla longish early seven oh slower numbers, which though slow dont weigh the listener down, (trk8 is pretty funny)... a very cool slice o'decade turnin soul grooves, still soundz fine as wine...

...dig that cover jack, some kinda doomsville blowout or somethin akin
...some sorta coment on life is short maybe, or time is runnin out for everyone on th' planet whatever it musta put off a few catz back in th' day coz its a fairly rarely unheard biskit
...no info came on the cover apart from lyricz so no egos apart from the writer (theres always someone who cant resist the call)
...its a chippa jazz prog rockin workout with lashins o'flute 'n keyboards
...about half 'n half with songs 'n instros so they get a lotta noodlin time to spread out 'n groove
...this was the only slab released 'n then it was th' road to th' center o' obscuro town 'n then...

...second 'n last wax from the 8th day 'n much more o' th' time than th' first, with th' older styles jettisoned in favor o'some rocky funk mixed with some slight jazzy 'n gospelly vibes...some cutz come complete with cuttin geetar' n bongos which makes for a fine listen...it really is a complete drag that they didnt stay together longer cos on th' strength o'this outtin they coulda been a contenda...not a rubbish trk on th' whole platta 'n as most catz know thats a rarest o'rare thing in any decade...

Friday

...despite th' obviously xploito cheapo cheapo cheapness o' th' cover this is a euro boot o' th' way hot 'n chippa first drop(with one trk missin 'n two from next year added, go figure) from this fine as wine funk mob from th' streets o' brooklyn...what we got here is a great pot o' early/mid seven oh funk up there with th' players 'n fatback off'rins...organ swells 'n funkeegitariffin, horn injexshuns, handclaps'n tambourines are laid over urban strings peekin thru from th' background but never intrusive to take th' funk away...not a wasted trk on any part o' th' disc, soopahgroovy pops 'n thats a wonderful thing in any cats estimation...

...by th' time this wax, th' third offerin from th' feat hit th' rax they were sure pickin up a lot o' cool press 'n gettin a goodly pocket o' record co. moolah comin their way... th' sound o' snake boogie funk rock mixed into one scrumptious n'awlins gumbo comes lopin outta th' speakers 'n makes its way from lugz to tootsies 'n gives off a fine green afternoon haze that is well pleasin...lonesome highways 'n innercity vibes intertwine in a way that probably wouldn't happen today due to way too much xposure to whack media pervadin into every nook 'n cranny 'n makin th' whole shebang one homogenous slop o' fake slick'o'ness not fit for consumption...
