...th'liverpool scene took their name from a book o'poetry some o' them had published in 67'n they got together with some local musos to form a loose workin' combo to do gigs, sorta jazzy poetry for young moderns...in amongst this affiliation were adrian henry/brian patten/mike hart/andy roberts all strivin' to take poetry from th'underground into th'mainstream...john peel supported their efforts'n produced this first LP which o' course didn't sell too well but that was only to be expected...they did manage to do a few support dates with th'fledglin' led zeppelin though at some gigs they were tolerated more than enjoyed...this wax is a good look at some cats who tried to do something slightly different'n in some ways they succeeded as much as failed...
