...formed in 77'n after a single on th'magnificent dangerhouse label they signed to slash records'n put out this fantastic LP...one o' th'finest combos outta th'cali punk explosion o' th'late seventies when styles o' noise weren't yet codified, they managed to sound unlike most o' their peers even though they had plenty o' buzzin' guitars because th'toons had words that told vignettes o' modern urban existance, not just sloganeerin'n cheerin' for 'our side'...because ray manzarek produced th'wax a lotta ol'school critics desperate to get a handle on th'punk revolution claimed them as th'new wave to take yanquee music forward into th'next decade...unfortunately bein' lauded by rollin' stone'n other organs o' reactionary propaganda backfired'n th' original followers fell away cos they saw th'combo bein' co-opted by th'enemy(ol'squares who cared nothin' for th' music, only their standin as bein' on th'ball with th'latest trends)...th' later waxin's though o' interest never told o' a time'n place like this one, never captured th'feelin o' urgency so necessary for th'songs to fire on all cylinders...included here are demo for th'first single'n th'title trk in its dangerhouse version which originally appeared on 'YES LA''n other good grooves from long ago when rocknroll still was important...
